It applies preferably to star names applied by the IAU for international use in research papers of modern astrophysics, but there are also some modern star names that have been invented within the past century and are not included in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (for various reasons, e.g. that the term is actually a corruption of another term or that the star had been named differently before). |
