Dalim is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP14879 (α For, HR 963) in constellation For.
Etymology and History
The name was introduced for the star by Piazzi (1814) originating from the Indigenous Arabian asterism ظَلِيم al-ẓalīm, The Ostrich, seen in various stars (e.g. Fomalhaut, theta Eridani)
