The name "Bruangalul" is documented for the star α Muscae in the Wardaman culture, which is Indigenous to Australia.

Mythology

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name was suggested to IAU WGSN in 2023. α Mus ( HR 4798; HIP 61585, Vmag 2.65, SIMBAD) is a multiple or double star, a B2-type blue giant.
