From All Skies Encyclopaedia

According to the Britannica, a phenomenon in philosophy is any object, fact, or occurrence perceived or observed. In general, phenomena are the objects of the senses (e.g., sights and sounds) as contrasted with what is apprehended by the intellect.

Hence, in the context of astronomy, phenomena are all sorts of visual or acustic effects, e.g.: heliacal risings/ settings, aurorae, meteors, stellar transient, and even the "morning star"/ "evening star" which are bright celestial objects in the twilight sky (Jupiter, Mercury, Venus) and not necessarily refer to a specific planet.
