Ḫabaṣīrānu

mul / dḪabaṣīrānu is an ancient Mesopotamian asterism.

Var. entries: dḪa-ba-ri; Akkadian parallel to mulEN.TE.NA.BAR.ḪUM/LUM/SIG4; the meaning of the Akkadian word is not quite clear, possible connections with ḫumṣīru "(big) mouse" with the meaning: "Mouse-like". [AHw, 355b; CAD Ḫ, 8; Landsberger 1934, 105f.]; a constellation within Centaurus (Centaurus) [G. 179; BPO 2, 12; AHw, 303].
