Ṣarru

mulṢarru (𒀯𒇡𒊒) is an ancient Mesopotamian asterism.

= "Sparkling (star)"; apparently an epithet of Mars.

  • DIŠ mulṢar-ru ana ŠA3 [...] "If the Sparkling Star to [...approaches]"(?) [BPO 3[2], 271, 83-1-18,783: 5]; in the preceding line of the text, mulṢar-ru is replaced by mulṢal-bat-a-nu "Mars". See also: mul.meš ... ṣar-ru-ti [AHw[3] 1086b].
