Catalineta

Catalineta is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Filetdor in the constellation of Hydra. Suggested by the country of Spain, it follows the name theme Characters in the Catalan dialect from Mallorcan folktales as recorded in "Aplec de Rondaies Mallorquines d'en Jordi d'es Racó" by Mallorcan writer Antoni Maria Alcover i Sureda (1862-1932).

Etymology and History

Catalineta refers to the name of a little girl who is a heroine in "Na Filet d'Or".

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
