Tassili

Tassili is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Hoggar in the constellation of Taurus. Suggested by the country of Algeria, it follows the name theme Names associated with marvels of the Sahara Desert in Algeria

Etymology and History

Tassili is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in the Sahara Desert and is renowned for its prehistoric cave art and scenic geological formations.

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
