Halla

Halla is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Baekdu in the constellation of UrsaMinor. Suggested by the country of South Korea, it follows the name theme Sacred peaks of Korea and symbols of peace and spirituality among the Korean people.

Etymology and History

Halla is the highest mountain in South Korea and is regarded as a sacred place in the region.

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
