mulḪU(?).NIM is an ancient Mesopotamian asterism. It occurs only in predictions (not in astrometrical texts), so no identification can be given. Kurtik even suggests a writing error.

Dictionary

Kurtik with Hilder, Hoffmann, Horowitz, Kim

[G. 186]; only in the predication:

  • [DIŠ mulMAN-ma ana mul]ḪU?.NIM TE ZAḪ3 KUR [...]
  • "[If the Strange Star (=Mars) approaches towards mul]ḪU.NIM: the country will fall [...]" [ACh Ištar, 24:23].

The attempt to identify mulḪU.NIM with an unknown constellation from the zodiacal belt "between Sagittarius and Scorpius under the Ophiuchus" see. [Maneveau 1994]. Could it be that mulḪU.NIM was a distortion of mul <d>A-nim, see (Kurtik a41) ANUM.

Historical Dictionaries

Kurtik (2022) Gössmann (1950)
[G. 186]; только в предсказании: [DIŠ mulMAN-ma ana mul]ḪU?.NIM TE ZAḪ3 KUR […] «[Если Странная звезда (=Марс) к mul]ḪU.NIM приблизилась: падение страны […]» [ACh Ištar, 24:23]. Example
