II. Deity.

mulIM.ŠU.RIN.NA was identified with male and female (Widows and Widowers, almānu, almattu) as well as the goddesses (dGu-la and ddil-bat = Venus). see below). The mythological basis of the name "Widow's Furnace" is unclear. The identification with Vega in Lyra , which was part of the constellation dGu-la, in the lists of ziqpu-stars: mulGAŠAN.TIN = bēlet balāṭi "Lady of Life" [Schaumberger 1952, 226:24; 228:VII; BPO 2, 36-37, Parallels II 7].  This has to be checked????

III. Identification.

[Mesop.Astrol., App. B:29].

II.

[Schaumberger  1952, 226:24; 228:VII; BPO 2, 36–37, Parallels II 7].

III.

[ibid., VII 5].

(3) Венера «поворачивает» к Печи; DIŠ mulDil-bat SUR-ma ana IGI ˹mul˺[IM.ŠU.RIN].NA KI.MIN ˹mulMAR.GID2.DA˺ NIGIN…

(4) Блестящая звезда не появляется при восходе; a) DIŠ ulIM.ŠU.RIN.NA ina IGI.DU8.A-šu2 MUL ni-bu-u2 ša2 bi-ri-šu2 la SAR.SAR-aḫ ina MU BI ŠEG3.MEŠ u A.KAL.MEŠ GAL2-ši «Если при (гелиакическом) восходе Печи блестящая звезда, которая посреди нее, не появляется: в этом году будут дожди и наводнения», b) DIŠ ulIM.ŠU.RIN.NA i-ta-lal KI.MIN «Если (гелиакический восход) Печи задержался (букв.
