MUL.AN.DIRI.A

^dMUL.AN.DIRI.A (𒀭𒀯𒀭𒋛𒀀𒀀) is a Sumerian name for Venus. Its sense seems to be mul an.a diri(g). The star which is great(est) in the sky, or drifts through the sky. The Sumerian verb diri has a number of meanings including diri(g) = Akkadian watāru, 'to exceed, to be the most,' and diri(g) as a very of motion, for example as in ^gišMA₂.DIRI.GA.
