Zubeneschamali is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP74785 (β Lib, HR 5685) in constellation Lib.
Etymology and History
Applied in Renaissance times from its sci-A name al-zubana alshamali, "the Northern Claw (of the Scorpion)".
