Torcular is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Latin. It is the name of HIP8198 (ο Psc, HR 510) in constellation Psc.

Etymology and History

The traditional name Torcularis septentrionalis (northern wine press) was taken from the 1515 Almagest (Latin translation) and abbreviated.
