Taphao Thong

Taphao Thong  is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Chalawan  in the constellation of Ursa Major. Suggested by the country of Thailand, it follows the name theme NEWC 2015

Etymology and History

Taphao Thong is one of two sisters associated with the Thai folk tale of Chalawan. 

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
