Sumajmajta

Sumajmajta is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Inquill in the constellation of Ara. Suggested by the country of Peru, it follows the name theme Names of characters from the story Way to the Sun and other works by Peruvian writer Abraham Valdelomar (1888–1919).

Etymology and History

Sumaj Majta was one half of the couple involved in a tragic love story Way to the Sun by famous Peruvian writer Abraham Valdelomar.

IAU Working Group on Star Names

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
