Sadalmelik

Sadalmelik is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP109074 (α Aqr, HR 8414) in constellation Aqr.

Etymology and History

Applied in recent times from the Arabic name sa(d al-malik, for α and ο Aqr. A possible meaning for the name is "the Lucky (Stars) of the King", but the exact historical connections are unknown.
