Orkaria

Orkaria is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Maa. It is the name of HIPIntegerPart[] (, GJ 1214) in constellation Oph.

Etymology and History

Orkaria refers to the red ochre commonly donned by young Maa warriors during cultural ceremonies and alludes to the colour of GJ 1214.
