Kua'kua

Kua'kua is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Batsũ̀ in the constellation of Indus. Suggested by the country of Costa Rica, it follows the name theme Names of culturally significant animals in the language of the Bribri people from Costa Rica.

Etymology and History

Kua'kua means “butterfly” in the Bribri language. Kua'kua traditionally symbolises the women of the land. The appearance of some species of Kua'kua is an indirect sign of the coming of the rainy season in the region.
