Hunahpú is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Kʼicheʼ language. It is the name of HIP55174 (, HD 98219) in constellation Crt.

Etymology and History

Hunahpú was one of the twin gods who became the Sun in K'iche' (Quiché) Mayan mythology as recounted in the Popol Vuh.
