Fumalsamakah

Fumalsamakah is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP113889 (β Psc, HR 8773) in constellation Psc.

Etymology and History

Arabic فم السمكة fum al-samakah means "mouth of the fish". The name was considered traditional by the IAU in 2026, although it does not appear in Kunitzsch and Smart (2006) and not in Allen (1899).

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2018/06/01.
