Intan is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Bahasa Melyu. It is the name of HIP 15578 (HD 20868) in constellation For.

Etymology and History

Intan means diamond in the Malay language (Bahasa Melayu), alluding to the shining of a star.
