Angetenar

Angetenar is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP 13288 (τ² Eri, HR 850) in constellation Eri.

Etymology and History

Derived from the Arabic Al Ḥināyat an-Nahr, 'the Bend in the River', based on Arabic Almagest translations.

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2017/06/30.
