Kaffaljidhma is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Arabic. It is the name of HIP12706 (γ Cet, HR 804) in constellation Cet.
Etymology and History
Arabic الكف الجذماء, al-kaf al-jaðmāʾ ('the cut-short hand') is given as a star name in Allen (1899) with reference to an Arabic name for the asterism of Cetus's Head.
Mythology

The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN on 2017/02/01.
