Janssen

Janssen is an IAU name for an exoplanet. Its host star is Copernicus in the constellation of Cancer. Suggested by the country of Netherlands, it follows the name theme NEWC 2015
Etymology and History
Jacharias Janssen (1580s-1630s) was a Dutch spectacle maker who is often attributed with invention of the microscope, and more controversially with the invention of the telescope.
Mythology
IAU Working Group on Star Names
The name was adopted by the IAU WGSN in the 20xx NameExoWorlds Campaign (NEWC).
