Tupã is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Guarani. It is the name of HIP 60644 (HD 108147) in constellation Cru.

Etymology and History

Tupã is one of four principal gods of the Guarani Cosmogony in popular Paraguayan folklore that helped the supreme god Ñamandu to create the Universe.
