In 2024, the IAU WGSN decided to name rho Leo "Shaomin" according to the Chinese tradition.
Shaomin is a modern star name adopted by the International Astronomical Union in the IAU-Catalog of Star Names (IAU-CSN). Its origin is Chinese. It is the name of HIP51624 (ρ Leo, HD 91316) in constellation Leo. Shaomin orignally forms a pair with Taimin, but the star with that (other) name had been named by the IAU already.
