ひこぼし(hikoboshi) means "the male star", it is the common name of the star alpha Aquilae in Japan.

The name was discussed and approved by the IAU WGSN in 2023. Since α Aql is already named Altair and the name "Hikoboshi" is closely bound to this star, the IAU chose to not include it in the IAU-CSN. Applying this name to another, won't be acceptable for the culture of origin.
