LA.KU.DU

^dLA.KU.DU (𒀭𒆷𒆪𒁺) is a name for Mercury that is preserved one time only -- in the British Museum divination commentary K. 4166+4366. Given that the term is at present a hapax legomena it is not possible to determine if the name is to be interpreted as Sumerian or Akkadian.

Name of Mercury; identity: ^dLA.KU.DU = ^dUDU.IDIM.GU₄.UD  "Lacud = Mercury" only in K4166+4366 i 21 (CDLI P395431). The fragment K4366 was previously published as AfO 14 pl. VII and II R 39 with some discussion of p. 310 (Weidner, AfO 14 (1941-44) 308-316.
